Media on Open Evening

QEGs held an open evening for anyone looking to join the school, whether it be at Year 7, 6th Form, or for people joining other years. I volunteered to help in the Media department. This consisted of using a green screen and a desk to film the visitors presenting a mock news report and then editing the footage to superimpose their image on to the background of a professional newsdesk.

Considering I filmed over twenty people reading the news report, I consolidated the knowledge I gained from using the cameras in the Continuity Exercise. I did not edit at all though. This is something I must participate in without fail the next time I have the chance.

Filming the screen video with Andy, however, gave me an intelligible insight into using the editing software and grounded my knowledge. Andy gave instructions throughout the video; although sometimes somewhat nebulous, they did help me become familiar with using the software.
